Originally from Yonkers, NY I moved to Hamilton in 1991. My parents were hard working, honest people who taught me that "if you follow your passion, there is no short cut to proficiency. Hard work pays off". I purchased Utica 22 St. Café in the fall of 2009 and fell in love with the building the moment I saw it due to its unusual architecture and rich history in the community. The former Hamilton Firehouse has remained a strong and kind reminder of how community places help bring people together and shape our lives. With such a vibrant and diverse community in Hamilton, I knew it would be the perfect choice.
My vision was to create a café that would appeal to everyone of all ages and offer a variety of unique coffee and teas, pastries, cakes, soups, Panini's and salads. An urban feel with eclectic art and music with overstuffed comfy chairs and sofas with outdoor seating during the warmer weather.
We offer over 20 different smoothies made with fresh fruit or candy and our salads are made with the freshest ingredients from our local farms. You won't find a shortage of muffins, scones, cookies, truffles and other sinful delights. Our favorite is the Toll House Cookie Pie – served warm with a scoop of vanilla yogurt and hot fudge. A Hamilton community favorite!
Utica 22 St. Café has become a haven for students looking to meet over coffee while surfing the net, local professionals grabbing a quick bite for lunch, friends meeting for breakfast and families wanting to get a special treat. Night owls will enjoy our late night menu we serve Friday and Saturday nights until 3:00 am. We offer delivery, catering, gift baskets and care packages, perfect for any occasion.
When I'm not at the café greeting and serving guests I can be found at my LakeView Inn near Lake Moraine attending to our overnight guests. Private dinner parties and rooms are available by reservation. 607 244 9602
